Da Bull

I met Greg Noll!!! Why is it that when I see a bona fide movie or TV star in person, I'm totally uninterested, but when I see someone like Greg Noll, I'm dumbstruck? As far as I'm concerned, if there are surfing gods, Greg Noll is one of them. He took quite an interest in Soul Brother #2, asking if the little man has a wetsuit (yes, by the way, he does) and telling me to let him come to surfing at his own speed (which is just the way I see it too). The old dude rocks! I couldn't afford the book, so I had him sign a Greg Noll sticker and my tide book. (I don't get paid until Friday and I don't use credit. So, I couldn't get the book . . . unless pocket lint is now an accepted currency at surf shops).

The recent rains kept me out of the water this weekend. Seeing Da Bull rivaled an epic session. I'm on a high that's going to last for awhile. Aloha.

Stumbled upon you when looking up Eastern Garbage Patch which I heard about on NPR (you give an incredible description.)... your website is a great find, and even though I have never touched a surfboard, it drew me in. Off topic, thanks for intruducing me to the Toots song, and the De La Soul song (which I can't find on iTunes..will have to seek an alternate source.) Great web page. Did you design it yourself?

So funny how we attatch this fondness to the once great surfers. I recently met a beautiful man, I considered taking up his offer for a new relationship until I discovered the groosem depth of his infatuation....eh....obsession with Noll. Yeah. So next time you run into Da Bull would you let him know I said thanks for screwing up what could have been a perfectly good hump?!! Heh heh...

So.....whats the news on the bus. Post an update or email me, have not heard from you in a while.

You heard about who on NPR? I never heard about me on NPR. You've got to give me a link or something. I listen all the time. You must have me confused with someone noteworthy. That wouldn't be me.

JGirl!!! So good to see you're up and about (at least as that term relates to feeling well enough to sit in front of a computer and type)!! I pick up the bus on Saturday. The guy selling it is a procrastinator and I was holding him off until I got the money together. I think I wrote you that he accepted my offer of a lower price. I met a guy yesterday at the Noll book signing. This guy has three buses. He doesn't live here in the hood, but he just bought a business in the hood and told me to come see him. So, I've made a helpful contact. Girl, you're more of a rock star than Greg Noll will ever be. And why would a man be that fascinated by Greg Noll. I like him because he's a bad-ass old dude and I bet he was a hottie when he was younger. I'll keep you posted about the bus.

Oh!! You heard about the Eastern Garbage Patch on NPR. That makes more sense.

I didn't design the site. I started out with a template from Blogger. Then I just started experimenting (even though I don't know or understand code at all). Somehow, I ended up with what you see now.

Surfsister, I think, from what I've read, you are probably more noteworthy than you think! Sorry, reading back I realise how it may have sounded like I was saying YOU were on NPR...what I meant was that I heard about the Patch on NPR, did a google, and your entry came up.

Too bad its only 1x a year Earth Day that brings this kind of issue to the forefront...

Paula, Its cool when our dad's do different duck stuff...In the mid 60's, my dad, an Episopalian minister and jazz musician, was the subject of a castigating cartoon in the Manchester (NH) Union Leader for having jammed in the pulpit. He framed the cartoon.

Da Bull hasn't surfed in so long he is now irrelevant. But the guy from the instant boulder website has got mad skills compared to Da Bull.
